Barker set to Move

Club captain and Top goal Scorer Richard Barker is set to join Hartlepool in an 80,000 deal during the next few hours. Local news reports say that he is in Hartlepool having a medical with a view to the deal being signed.

It is a bizare move that will further incite the feelings towards owner Keith Haslam. With the Stags set to rake in up to over 100,000 over Liam Lawrence's recent move to Stoke, thanks to the sell on clause added to his move to Sunderland, when he left the Stags, the move to sell Barker just dosn't make sense.

Barker himself has recently said ' don't really know whether I'm coming or going at the moment, but I should imagine it will be sorted out shortly.

"It has been difficult playing with this hanging over me and I didn't even know if I would play against Hartlepool until Sunday.

"I'm still hoping to stay, but it is sometimes out of your hands."

A club statement also went on record as saying "While we can confirm Richie is speaking to Harlepool today, is is by no means a completed deal and there is nothing firm on the table right now."
