Brown Injury Update

Talking to the Nottingham Evening Post, Stags boss Peter Shirtliff confirmed "Simon had the fluid drained off his knee and at the same time we have killed two birds with one stone and also got a hernia problem cleared up," he said.

"It is not the same one as last season, but often when one is affected the other can flare up too.

"But things appear to have gone well and he has now had his stitches out and already started his rehabilitation.

"I would expect to see him back playing football and in with a shout in the next couple to three weeks. He is not far off."

With fellow striker Micky Boulding also struggling to return through a knee injury, it is a timely boost for the Stags squad ahead of the vital trip to Boston this coming weekend.
