Halifax Town have announced that they have signed 35 year old Dutch midfielder Gus Uhlenbeek on non contract terms with a view to a permanent deal.

Uhlenbeek was at League Two side Mansfield Town last season making 40 appearances, which includes 12 substitute appearances and scored two goals.

Ipswich Town brought him to England in August 1995 paying £100,000 for his services from Top Oss. He made over 100 appearances for the Tractor Boys before a move to Fulhan in the summer of 1998.

He has also played for Sheff Utd, Walsall, Bradford, Chesterfield and Wycombe Wanderers.

Uhlenbeek is expected to be in the squad tomorrow night for the visit of Southport.
