The Reaction to the Mansfield game.
By Nathan Jackson - January 3 2006

Our usual collection of quotes from various sources regarding our derby day draw at Mansfield Town. The vast majority of fans have been concentrating on the Keith Alexander situation and quotes about the game were few and far between, however, January 2nd 2006 will be remembered for 1 reason only

I won't lie, today wasn't a game to be disappointed with a relatively poor performance, everyone, including the players had the Keith and Gary situation on their minds and it showed in the performance and we were lucky that we weren't playing a decent team otherwise we'd probably have lost relatively easily and we'll have to play better to beat Wrexham.

There we both good and bad things to come out of John Schofield being put in charge, he seemed prepared to give the youngsters a chance and Leon Mettam got his first taste of league football, however, our bench was an inanimate as a cemetery before George A Romero gets to it. I can't even recall seeing any of our substitutes warming up and Mettam coming on, was probably the first time he'd moved since returning from half time.

"I thought McAuley and McCombe imparticular were immense today. The bigger problem is having someone like Marvin up front with his teflon swede and boots. Hold the bugger up and take the pressure off the defence." shane_imps

"The lads in the center are playing well, it's the full backs/wing backs letting us down. Wingers have a field day against Mayo, far too many crosses get put into our box." Horncastle_Imps
