In a repeat of last season's FA Cup final success, Wigan have probably gone one better this time around, by beating the big spending Manchester City side, by 2-1 in their own back yard.
And for those from 'round these part's, it will be of delight that local lad James Perch, who was born in Mansfield, scored the crucial second goal at the Ethihad Stadium.
James had previously been at NOTTS Forest, but moved to Newcastle Utd before ending up at Wigan and now writing himself into folkelore with his actions in the FA Cup.
We as a town, will also take a little credit then for Wigan's FA Cup success!
