Stags battle back for Blues point

Mansfield came from 2-0 down to earn a battling 2-2 draw with fellow strugglers Wycombe.

The Chairboys had goalkeeper Matt Ingram in fine form but that was little consolation for the Stags who have now gone 11 home games without a victory.

Wanderers, who have now only won once in 14 League Two games, scored from their first raid forward when a quickly taken free-kick ended with Sam Wood curling an unstoppable finish past a rooted Alan Marriott from 25 yards.

Nick Arnold did fire inches wide and debutant Reece Styche headed straight at Marriott but the best chances of the half fell to the home side who found Ingram in fine form.

He beat away a shot from Darryl Westlake on five minutes and produced a brilliant parry to deny Matt Rhead from his far-post volley eight minutes later.

Lee Stevenson volleyed tamely at him and Ryan Tafazolli headed over before Ingram tipped over a dipping Ross Dyer effort.

Wanderers doubled their lead three minutes into the second half as Josh Scowen met a Nick Arnold cross from the right by-line with a deadly right-foot volley from 12 yards.

But three minutes later Lee Stevenson kept Stags in the hunt. From a corner, Anthony Howell had a low shot blocked, the ball breaking for Stevenson five yards from goal to slot home low under Ingram.

Matt McClure should have restored Wycombe's two-goal advantage on the hour mark but he lifted over from close range from Arnold's free-kick.

Ollie Palmer was sent on 10 minutes from time and after Ingram superbly tipped a 20-yard Clements effort onto the bar Palmer was lurking to find the empty net from close range with the keeper helpless.

In the last minute Ingram made another fine fingertip save to deny Clements a winner from 20 yards.
