Mansfield Town have signed versatile defender Mark Preece on a free transfer from Blue Square Bet Premier rivals Forest Green Rovers.The 23-year-old has signed a one-year contract at Field Mill.

Stags manager David Holdsworth said: "Mark is a welcome addition. He is a hungry young man who wants to continue his progression here."

Town have taken former Stags Michael, 34, and Rory Boulding, 23, on trial. The strikers left Bradford in March.
