Mansfield Town condemned Newport County to their third successive defeat to knock the Exiles out of the FA Trophy.Paul Connor gave Mansfield the lead as he tapped in after the ball rebounded off the post before his second created by strike-partner Keigan Parker.

Parker added a third for the Stags but a Gary Silk own goal gave Newport hope after Kerry Morgan's shot.

Striker Robbie Matthews scored a second for County but Louis Bricoe's late goal scuppered any Newport comeback hopes.

Mansfield progress into the third round as Blue Square Bet Premier rivals Newport come to terms with life without manager Dean Holdsworth following his departure to Aldershot Town.
