McAliskey on Stags Move

The 22 year old, snapped up by Billy Dearden during the close season, seems determined to make a mark at his new club.

"A few clubs were after me but the idea of playing first-team football appealed," McAliskey told the Nottingham Evening Post on Monday.

"I never really got a decent run in the team at Huddersfield and, even when I did well, they would just bring back other players when they were fit again.

"That was always frustrating because it is hard to make an impact when you are being used as substitute and only getting 20 minutes here and there.

"I think playing regularly will make a big difference to me and I hope I can do a job for Mansfield.

"It's not just about goals, but I would hope I can get between 15 and 25 in the season, providing I am in the team regularly.

"The only time I have had any kind of a run at Huddersfield was when I first got into the first team and I got a few goals then, so hopefully it will be the same here."
