Millers defender joins Mansfield

Rotherham United defender Andy Nicholas has joined Mansfield Town on loan for the rest of the season.The deal will become effective from noon on Tuesday and Millers boss Ronnie Moore hopes the move will free some cash to strengthen his squad.

"We need to bring in another experienced centre-half in. We also need a midfield player and we need pace," Moore told BBC Radio Sheffield.

Former Swindon player Nicholas, 26, joined the Millers in August 2008.
