Boston Utd 2 v 2 Mansfield

Neither manager was fully satisfied with the outcome as Boston and Mansfield shared the points from a 2-2 draw.

The Stags twice came from behind to force a stalemate as Richie Barker and Simon Brown cancelled out goals from Danny Thomas and Alan White.

But there was little comfort for either boss, with Boston's Steve Evans insisting: "I thought we had three good claims for a penalty near the end but for reasons only known to him, the referee decided not to award any.

"And that was disappointing because overall I think we did enough to have won. We turned in a solid performance and I think we are going in the right direction, even though we are still desperately seeking our first win.

"We will certainly play worse than that and win. But we have a good belief in what we are doing and in my opinion the table has a false look to it at the moment."

Mansfield boss Carlton Palmer said: "It was a good away point but we should have had more. We battered them for longs spells but our Achilles heel is defending restarts and set pieces and it's something we are still working on.

"However, we have got a good young team and for a lot of the match I think we outplayed a strong and physical side.

"Not many people will come to Boston and get points. So we have to be pleased with our afternoon's work at a place where teams never find it easy.

"Overall, I have only praise for the character and never-say-die attitude of our team."
