Carlisle News & Star:

CARLISLE United will NOT lift the League Two championship trophy at Mansfield on Saturday – even if they clinch the title at Field Mill.

The Blues will be champions if they beat the Stags and Northampton fail to win at Oxford. But a Football League spokesman told News & Star Sport the trophy will not be taken to Field Mill in anticipation of United winning the league there.

That means the soonest the Cumbrians could get their hands on the trophy would be at Brunton Park next Saturday, when they face Torquay in their last home game of the season.

But if they don't clinch the title on Saturday, they would have to be content with lifting the trophy at either Rochdale and Stockport, where they play their final two games of the campaign.
