Radio Bid

Somwhat hidden during the news of Peter Shirtliff's departure, was the news that owner Keith Haslam has said he will leave the football club should someone pay the right price for it. Haslam who has been under pressure from supporters over the past few months, made the announcement at the end of briefing reporters about the sacking of Shirtliff.

The news has prompted several figures to declare their interest in bidding for the club. One unlikely such source is local radio station, Mansfield 103.2, with Station manager Tony Delahunty telling the Mansfield CHAD "I didn't know how the radio station board would react but they have told me to make a presentation to them early in January at a specially arranged board meeting."

"I have no idea at all which way they will go but I will be spending the whole of Christmas putting it together.

"It is an either/or. We can have a look at buying the football club. But we are happy to talk to anyone, Andy Perry included, about assisting other bids."

"Whichever, we will be user-friendly to Mansfield Town Football Club."

It also remains to be seen if Perry himself carries out his bid that he has mentioned before.
