After being sent away from Field Mill to sort his future out, Rhys Day has come back and finally agreed to stay at Field Mill and has put pen to paper in a two year deal.

Rhys Said "It has been a confusing time the last ten days or so as so much has been going on. I had received offers from elsewhere, some with more money but I felt that I would be better of staying at Mansfield because I know that the Gaffer and Ganns are in a position to offer me what I really want - regular football and career opportunities"

The decision has finally sorted the centre back positions out, meaning Keith Curle can now concentrate on other area's of his re-building plan.

Meanwhile it is also revealed that just prior to Day signing, a £5,000 bid for the defender from Hartlepool was turned down by Stags chairman Keith Haslam.
