Former Oxford left-back Kevin Sandwith says he is hoping for a promotion push with new club Mansfield Town next season. The 32-year-old was released by Oxford following their Blue Square Premier play-off final win.

He told BBC Radio Nottingham: "Looking at the start of last season you can only bring positives out of it.

"You've got to look to hopefully have a positive season and be in and around the play-offs at least."

Sandwith said he was hoping to get more first team football at Field Mill.

"I enjoyed last season but at times it did get frustrating when you're out of the side for 10 games and you get back in for half a dozen," he continued.

"It was really disappointing but hopefully this season, I'll play pretty much every game."

His free transfer deal will go through on 1 July.
