Manager Shirtliff eyes Lady Luck

Mansfield manager Peter Shirtliff is hoping for a change of fortune for his side in front of goal next season.

Shirtliff transformed the club's fortunes last season as he replaced Carlton Palmer in September and then steered Town away from relegation danger.

But the Stags supremo believes Mansfield can do better next season if only then enjoy better luck in the opposition's area.

He said: "You've seen the goals on television when teams seem to get scrappy, ugly, lucky goals?

"We never seem to get them."
