The Stags have not ruled out a swoop for former Huddersfield Town duo Martin McIntosh (Defender) and John McAliskey (Striker) according to assistant boss Paul Holland.
"They are players we would be interested in and we are going to have a look at them," Holland told the Evening Post at the weekend.
"At the back, Hjelde has gone so we need to bring in one, possibly two, in that area if Bap [Alex John-Baptiste] is not here.
"And with Barry [Conlon] not staying and Martin [Gritton] having gone back to Lincoln we need to be looking up front.
"Billy and I are speaking to players all the time, and we hope to see some results in the next week or so."
