Mansfield Town are set to offer former Tottenham and Notts County midfielder Darren Caskey a deal.
The 31-year-old, who is currently unattached, has been training at Field Mill and has impressed Stags manager Peter Shirtliff.
"He's looked sharp and creative so that is probably an option we can investigate," said Shirtliff.
Meanwhile, full-back Gavin Peers has been released from his contract at the League Two club.
