Striker Jon Shaw looks set to join Gateshead after leaving Blue Square Premier rivals Mansfield Town.Shaw, 26, who scored three goals in 14 appearances for the Stags, has previously spent time on loan at the International Stadium.

He told Mansfield's club website: "My family are in the North East and I want to take my wife and son nearer to them.

"I have enjoyed my time at the Stags and wish them all the best. They are a club destined for the Football League."
