Mansfield Town's FA Trophy first round fixture with Worksop Town on Saturday will now take place at Ilkeston Town. The tie was to be played at Worksop's ground in Retford but has now been moved to the New Manor Ground after police advice about segregation issues.

And Ilkeston could become a temporary home for the Stags, who are currently homeless following a dispute with landlord Keith Haslam over rent.

They have also had talks with Alfreton, Notts County, Eastwood, and Worksop.

Chairman John Radford said: "Hopefully we can announce over the next couple of days which club is going to become a temporary home to us.

Every game doesn't want to be an away game for us and I'm sure that the fans are loyal enough to travel to somewhere like Ilkeston or maybe Worksop

John Radford

"I like the look of Ilkeston. It's the right kind of ground for our current situation and will allow us to be promoted to League Two.

"The fans are from Mansfield and we don't want to be travelling too far. Every game doesn't want to be an away game for us and I'm sure that the fans are loyal enough to travel to somewhere like Ilkeston or maybe Worksop."
