Our Guide To Stockport

Last updated : 03 August 2005 By Editor
Stags fans will be housed in the Vernon Stand which holds 800 supporters, be warned though that there are a number of pillars which may ruin your view. On our last visit to Edgeley Park we found it strange that the entrance to the stand is at the far end (Behind the Cheadle Home End), which meant that you end up walking right in front of a stand full of home supporters. Should the Stags numbers exceed 800, then the Railway End (Uncovered) will be opened up, which is behind the goal.

Stags supporters are urged to drink in the following pubs, with most of them situated across the main road near the away end. Names to remember are The Royal Oak, Sir Robert Peel, The Armoury, The Grapes and The Swann, whilst fans are urged to avoid the John Jo Greens pub as it is mostly home friendly. There is also a small club at the side of the away end, which might let you in for a small fee.

For anyone travelling by car there is plenty of street parking.

Admission for away fans is £19 adults, £11 Concessions (or £12 if you read some reports - Students and OAPS), and £7 Under 16's. However the adult price should be £17 should fans be allowed into the Railway End.

For anyone still needing coach travel on the day, then the Westfield Supporters Club still has a few spaces left.
