Speaking to Radio Nottingham after the game, Shirtliff said: "We were poor and deserved to get beat, no doubt about it. It was a poor team performance all round."

"The changes made an impact, but when you make changes, you expect people to step up to the plate, I don't think the changes were the reason for that poor performance today. I just think it's inconsistency with young players, too many of our team were poor today."

"If you analyse the goals, they are poor goals, the second goal was a joke, and the subsequent goals are poor as well, It's like a pack of cards and we just fell down."

"The home central defenders played well, but we allowed them to play well. Our service to our front players wasn't good enough and when we got the ball up to them, they weren't good enough to cause them enough problems. It was a combination of a few factors."

"I'm struggling to find any bright spots, I thought Callum Lloyd did ok when he came on, he might have played himself into the side, he showed a level of competitiveness I’m after. It's funny, we've probably been in their box as many times as they've been in ours, but we lacked any sort of aggression and punch in their box and they've scored four goals in ours."

"We've got to bounce back from this, and we can certainly put up a better performance than this."
