The Stags this weekend announced a deal with Radio Mansfield (103.2) thjat will lead to the station handling all the commercial side of things at Field Mill.

The deal could lead to pop concerts being staged at Field Mill, but the first job for the newly formed committe, which will include representatives from Team Mansfield, the SSA, the club and the radio station, will be to bring back on board sponsors that have stayed away from the club, with the ongoing calls for owner Keith Haslam to sell up and move on.

The move is designed to take away the commercial side from direct involvement from Mr Haslam. Radio boss Tony Delahunty told the Mansfield CHAD about the deal "Some are staying away because of their grievances with the chief executive, so we have set up a committee to handle the revenue from this. And the fans will have a say on how that money is spent.

"The development committee will include representatives from Team Mansfield and the Stags Supporters Association, as well as the radio station, Mr Derry and a prominent local businessman or businesswoman."

Meanwhile Stags new chairman James Derry, who continues to ring the changes at Field Mill, told the paper "The overriding problems we have at the club is a lack of trust of Keith Haslam, so by having this deal we are taking the finances away from him and hopefully the fans and any potential sponsors will see a transparency in the way the money is used."
