Mansfield Town midfielder Andy Burgess is pleading with the club's supporters to get behind the team as they bid for a place in the play-offs.The Stags are ninth in the Blue Square Premier, six points off fifth spot, but many supporters have expressed their frustrations in recent home games.
Burgess told BBC Radio Nottingham: "If we are going to do it this season we need the fans on our side.
"I don't think they realise how much help they could be for us."
The 28-year-old understands why fans are not happy with their current league position but is asking them to keep faith with the team.
He said: "I'm a football fan and you do get frustrated but we need them to look past that a little bit now.
"Every single one of the players is focused on wanting to go up.
"We want to do it as much for our careers as much as the fans want to get Mansfield Town back into the Football League."
