Ticket Confusion

After sending only 1050 tickets, with some fans disapointed about not getting their hands on a ticket, Fans who went to Millmoor on Saturday were amazed to see one turnstyle open that was accepting payment on the day, which summed up the confusion over ticket allocation, that began last week when Rotherham innitially sent the Stags 850 tickets, before sending a further 200 to try and satisfy demand.

Even that was not enough as some fans couldn't get their hands on a ticket, and being advised not to travel without a ticket. However wth a crowd well short of the 7,000 capacity, more Stags fans could have travelled (indeed we estimated that at least 1,500 would have made the trip in normal circumstances), and it was more annoying when we discovered the "pay in the day" turnstyle was open.

Peter Shirtliff was however delighted with the fans who had made the journey "There was a terrific turnout today, I can´t speak highly enough of them. Even when we were down they were cheering for us because they could see the lads were trying."
