Tuesday: Your View

Words cannot describe how I’m feeling at the moment, losing to anyone is bad enough but when it’s Old Codgers County in a local derby it makes it a bitter pill to swallow.

Criticism of tactics time, I won’t be the first and I won’t be the last as I read threads from various Stags related message boards. Question, why make 5 changes to a team that had just earned a creditable draw away? Question, why drag one of the best midfielders in League 2 (Dawson) off halfway through the second half? Question, why so many defensive mistakes? I could go on forever but I won’t, what is happening to Mansfield Town? 5 points from 6 games doesn’t sound nice nor does it look nice as we currently lie in 18th position. Things need to change and quickly, relegation dogfights are not what were used to in this basement League and if were not careful we could see ourselves scrapping to get away from one.

My next fear is that Chester will turn us over big style on Friday night. Keith Curle and umpteen ex Stags play off finalist personnel certainly won’t need motivating for this one.

Best wishes to Chris Beardsley and his broken leg. Pilkington was out of order smirking whilst Beardsley was on the floor having a splint put in place, the lad was clearly in severe agony and as a fellow pro you would have thought Pilkington would have shown a bit more respect.

Come on stags – sort it out.

A crowd with about 2000 less Stags fans in it for a local derby, the truth is, is that fans are staying away in their droves due to the managers ability to fall out with players and constantly put his big foot in his mouth whenever he opens it. Yes Carlton we know you have friends in high places, yes we know you have played for England and that you phone Big Ron whenever you need advice. Well about getting Ron on the training pitch then to coach for a bit, we need some help tactially which at the moment is proving your ultimate downfall as a manager. You won't admit it, because it would ruin your ego, but everyone else can see it, and until a bit of honesty comes into play, then the people will still stayaway in their droves.

Why all the tactical changes, not only between games, but actually in the match itself, 4-4-2 has worked brilliantly for us over the years, let's stick to that for the rest of the season and play some damn good football, before other people start to stay away.
